Historical minifigs of LEGO Collection Series 12

It was revealed the first official pictures lining up the new minifigs of series 12.
I’m glad to find a few more historical characters, this time the collection seems to include a Mongol and female Greek warrior. It  also seems to include a new Musketeer and a old western gold miner 😀

In overall the new collection is very attractive and it’s probably related with the new Lego Minifigures online game.

Coauthor Sérgio Antunes

It’s with great pleasure and satisfaction that I come to announce that History Bricks has a new author. Sérgio Antunes agreed to participate, and I have no doubt that his skills as an historian and his past as AFOL will be of great value in the growth and promotion of the blog.

The idea came up during a conversation while commenting his work in PLUG’s event Brincka 2013 at Porto Salvo. He participated with an incredible Napoleonic Army.

The British ultimatum

Cuahchic built an interesting historical moment of the meeting under a wild fig tree on the Lower Thukela Drift, Natal Province, on 11th December 1878, between the Zulu’s king envoys and the British colony representatives. Present at this historic meeting was John Wesley Shepstone – Frere’s representative – who read to the Zulus a British ultimatum. You may read more about it at the MOC’s page.

The tree if the most notable detail were Cuahchic applied good techniques to get the volume effect of the tree leaves.

10214 – London Tower Bridge

Some users post in Eurobriks new pictures of the 10214 – Tower Bridge set. The set about this landmark is just awesome! The towers are well detailed and I loved the mini-cars (including the London bus) passing by.

Five starts to this set!

Eiffel Tower construction

Steven1980 made a nice MOC that shows the beginning of the Eiffel’s Tower construction. The MOC is a recreation of an old photo of this event.

Bellow is the original photo so you may compare it with the Steven’s MOC.
